Re: Favorite work lamps?
I'm in the process of setting up a work area in my garage, and lighting is a big factor. I hung a 2 tube T-8 tube flourescent a couple feet over my head. This is good for general use, but not for detailed work. I picked up a LED shop light by SnapOn at Costco and love it. About $25. It's the same configuration as the yellow halogen shop lights we are all familiar with. However, it is much brighter, does not even get warm, won't burn out in my lifetime, and broadcasts a great "white" light. One hanging to the side gives me all the light I could ever need in my windowless garage.
Re: Favorite work lamps?
started replacing the standard 40 watt florescent tube with LED units one give off the same amount of light as two of the 40 watters. Its kind of a pain since the fixture has to be re-wired, but the LED are supposed to last a very long time, no need for a starter or ballast.
