John -- I have no dog in the fight I do not use shellac hard (like Royal Lac and U-beaut) or otherwise -- glad your research supports what you are doing.

Quote "I thought I might need one made from the nasal hairs of an almost extinct boar, or something."
This is what I've heard too Dave so I'll start harvesting them tonight for you instead of using the nose hair clipper! :)

Kev, I did not say "the nasal hairs of a BORE" so don't worry about it!
Hahahahahahahahahahaha

But that was a generous offer.

Ken - it's no fight as far as I am concerned; I just want to know the negatives, if there are some. I've already started using it on a Regal I'm restoring, which is no great loss if it cracks, but would like to know anything relevant before I put it on a major project.

John, I can confirm that brush has never shed a single hair/fiber. I've used it with water-based poly on other projects too, and love it.

Dave that's a nifty brush -- When I looked at it, I could have sworn lacquer was not in the list of uses. Good tip
Thanks

So it's not just for water-based mediums?
