Your bridge and neck angle seems ok by my understanding. You should be able to set a low action and still have plenty of saddle showing. The fret will move you up a mm, the action will move the strings up about 4mm. So you will have about 5mm of saddle showing. I am happy if the straight edge just clears the bridge with no frets.

Thanks, John. It was a bit of a fuss getting all of it to line up, but it seems as if it did. The kit - - - my first foray into guitar building - - - is so idiosyncratic that it offers limited learning except as patience practice. Instruction manual didn't clarify much for me on this topic. Much more appropriate advice/insight came from this forum, either directly like we're exchanging now, or indirectly by reading other queries and explanations. So far so good. It's given me some good learning and some stressless experience. And my project's neck is in a good place. Onward to fretting and neck assembly.
